Anglian Potters

It’s been a busy few weeks getting ready for the Anglian Potters’ exhibition at RHS Hyde Hall. We were blessed with good weather for all four days over the early May Bank Holiday and plenty of people came to visit. I was delighted to sell some work and chat with customers. Sharing the wonderful Hilltop Lodge with 18 other potters was inspiring and it was great to learn from them and discuss ideas and techniques. I hope to be able to attend this event again next year.

Aside from that excitement was the absolute joy of visiting Ceramic Art London at Olympia West. I spent a very enjoyable afternoon talking to ceramic artists and looking at a very varied display of sculpture and pots. The day there concluded with helping one of the potters to pack down and get everything safely into the basement carpark via a heavily loaded trolley.

Later in May on the 23rd and 25th I will be holding a stall of wares at St Mary’s Church, Hatfield Broad Oak flower festival. This is a fantastic village event with gorgeous displays of flowers in the church and many activities for children and adults alike, including a 10k race and one mile family race.

Finally I will be taking part in Puckeridge Craft Market on Sunday 31st May, held at the community centre. Please come along!

Aside from these events I am developing ideas and making trial pieces at home with a focus on surface decoration and throwing larger vessels.
